During last time, human robots technology is always powered by Japan and dominate the development of the robot in the world. But Europe now, 2009, make advanced humanoid robot design. They also raced to make the sophisticated robot humanoid device.
English have been created a robot look like the 3,5 years old baby. The robot own really behavior that is truly like a small child. The robot was given a unique name iCub. Its attendance make the opportunity of robot and human being ever greater adjacent life.

The goal of creation  iCub is learn biological science through algorithm applying. With the born of iCub, the big projects developments of other robots in Europe was expected,  including the development of open source software.

iCub has immeasurable ability, such as the eyes moving, head shaking, and feet moving. Movements yielded is equal to children. In addition, iCub can hold and identify various objects.

Even, iCub claimed can play the drum peripheral. The rough looking robot was created in a technology project worth GBP 7.5 million by scientists in Continental Europe.

The iCub is planned to crawl, and can also feel the excitement surrounding areas, using hand for sensoring media. iCub design is the result of RobotCub Consortium, an organization of students clubs from various renowned engineering university. This sophisticated robot represent the result of five years project which funded by the European Commission.

The plan, iCub will be marketed by the end of  2009 in 20 universities, including Imperial College, Plymouth, and Manchester. Leaders of the project, Professor Darwin Caldwell, who is also head of research at the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa, believe that iCub not less with other robots.

About Icub

• Arms have the rotation of 7 degrees DOF. This means that arms can rotate to the front, rear, and top.
• Hands can be played on 9 degrees DOF. That is, wrists have sensitive elastivibility.
